(Chu~ton~ee Me~thee)

(Tangy Chutney – Tamarind & Date Chutney)



Dates – 1 cup

Tamarind – ½ cup

Jaggery – ½ cup

Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp.

Salt – ½ tsp.

Water – 2 cups


1.) De-seed the dates.

2.) In a toap, boil the water with dates, jaggery and tamarind. Mix well. Cook till the water reduces to half and the texture becomes thick and pulpy.

3.) Allow the mixture to cool; Squeeze the pulp and then strain it.

4.) Add the red chilli powder and salt. Mix well. Use as required.

To serve

Mithi Chutney is served as an accompaniment to any savoury item.
