(Pah~vanh Bah~tah~ta)
(Beaten Rice and Potato Snack)
Ingredients
Pava (beaten rice)- 2 cups
Potato- 1 medium sized, peeled and chopped into small cubes
Green Chillies- 2
Mustard Seeds- 1/4 tsp.
Curry Leaves- 1 Sprig
Oil- 1 tbsp.
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp.
Salt- to taste
Coriander leaves- 2-3 sprigs
Method
1. Take a kadai, pour 1 tbsp. oil in it. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Fry till the mustard seeds crackle.
2. Then add chopped potatoes and chillies. Saute and cook the potatoes.
3. When the potatoes are half done, wash the pava in a colander and drain out the water. Add salt and turmeric to the pava in the colander and mix well and keep it aside.
4. When the potatoes are fully cooked, then add the pava to it. Cook it on a slow flame for 3-5 minutes, stirring all the time.
5. Add lemon juice and mix it well. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
To Serve
Pava Batata can be served as Nashto (Breakfast) or it can also be served as a Nashta (Evening snack).
