MITHI MOONGA JI DAR / MITHI POATH / METHI VARI MOONGA JI DAR

(Split Green Gram Curry)

 

Ingredients

Split Green gram lentil – 1 cup
Dry Fenugreek leaves – 2 tblsp.
Ghee – 1 tblsp.
Salt – to taste

Method

  1. Soak the split green gram lentil in water for 1 hour prior to the cooking.
  2. Boil the lentil in the same water. Cook till the lentil in tender.
  3. Mash the lentil to make a puree. Add 2 more cups of water and bring the mixture to a boil.
  4. Add dry fenugreek leaves, ghee and salt. Boil it one more time.
  5. Reduce the heat and allow the curry to simmer for 10 minutes. Serve piping hot.

To serve

Mithi Poath / Methi Vari Moonga ji Dar / Mithi Moonga Ji Dar is served with Phulko for dinner.
