TOSHA

(Sweet Flour Rolls)

Recipe Overview

Tosha is a traditional Sindhi–Punjabi festive sweet made from spiced wheat flour dough,

deep-fried into crisp rolls or balls, and then coated in aromatic sugar syrup.

Depending on regional variation, it can be either lightly crisp with a thin sugar glaze

or fully syrup-soaked with a soft bite.

This version is a rustic, spiced wheat flour preparation flavored with cumin, pepper,

and cardamom—giving it a uniquely aromatic, slightly savory-sweet profile before being

finished with rose-scented sugar syrup. It is commonly prepared during festivals and

special family occasions and is known for its long shelf life and travel-friendly nature.
